When RYAN created this work, the picture in his mind flashed back to 100 years ago, the old Shanghai in 1930’s. There were many famous ladies at that time. In addition to their beautiful appearance, all of them were well educated and talented. This painting shows that the women competing against each other’s beauty and talent, but everyone of them has her own unique elegance.

RYAN在创作这幅作品时，脑海中的画面停留在100年前，民国时期的老上海。当时，老上海有许多名媛，她们个个除了貌美如花，气质非凡，还要能够出得了厅堂，进得了书法。这幅画就好比夜晚的时候，女人们一个个大方展示自己的艳丽，一较高下但却又各自精彩。
